1/30/2012 <b>Alison Turner</b> <br /> "Bingo Culture"<br /> In 2010, I hit the road to photograph America solo; living out of a tent and bringing along my dog for the ride. While traveling in Maine, I discovered a Bingo hall and it provoked a curiosity about a subculture that I was aware of. What I discovered was a community of dedicated players who travel to the same place, set up in the same spot, and bring along the same good luck charms with the hopes that this will be the day they win big. It's a place where hope and despair come hand in hand. I decided to visit Bingo Halls in every state I traveled to. Each location I encountered would bring in a true sense of community, complete with a unique set of personalities and characters. As I continued my travels and visits to Bingo Halls across America, I realized I was looking at a cultural phenomenon that will be lost to future generations. 1/23/2012 <b>Sean Wright</b> <br /> "Rite of Spring" (Series)<br /> Through this series I hope to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and rekindle the respect that planet Earth deserves. The photographs were taken with an infrared filter, which is light unseen through the human eye. Infrared literally means "below red" because it is at a frequency which is lower than red (the longest wavelength of visible light). The everyday scene is now transformed into something majestic and memorable. This series reveals beauty within the unknown by exploring the beauty in what has already been created.
